Oxoid™ Staphylase Test Kit (DR0595A) – Pack of 100 Tests is a rapid, reliable slide agglutination assay designed for the detection of Staphylococcus aureus by identifying the presence of clumping factor (also known as bound coagulase). This test is essential for distinguishing S. aureus from other staphylococcal species in clinical, food, and environmental samples.

Key Features:

• Test Principle: The test detects the clumping factor through agglutination of fibrinogen-sensitised sheep red blood cells. A positive result is indicated by visible clumping, confirming the presence of S. aureus. The control reagent (unsensitised sheep red blood cells) ensures specificity; no clumping should occur in the control reaction.

• Contents: Each kit provides enough reagents for 100 tests, including:

  • Rabbit fibrinogen-sensitised sheep red blood cells (test reagent)

  • Unsensitised sheep red blood cells (control reagent)

  • Disposable reaction cards

• Storage: Store at 2–8°C, ensuring the kit is kept in a cool, dry place.
