SGL EE Mossel Broth is a ready-to-use selective enrichment medium used for the recovery of Enterobacteriaceae from food, environmental, pharmaceutical and water samples. Commonly used during microbiological quality control and microbial limit testing, the medium promotes the growth of bile-tolerant Gram-negative bacteria whilst inhibiting many competing microorganisms.

EE Mossel Broth is particularly useful for recovering stressed or low-level contamination by organisms such as Escherichia coli, Salmonella, Klebsiella, Enterobacter and other members of the Enterobacteriaceae family. Following enrichment, samples are typically subcultured onto selective agar media for further identification and confirmation.
