Description

SGL EE Mossel Broth is a ready-to-use selective enrichment medium used for the recovery of Enterobacteriaceae from food, environmental, pharmaceutical and water samples. Commonly used during microbiological quality control and microbial limit testing, the medium is designed to encourage the growth of bile-tolerant Gram-negative bacteria whilst suppressing many competing organisms.

The broth is particularly useful for the recovery of organisms such as Escherichia coli, Salmonella, Klebsiella, Enterobacter and other members of the Enterobacteriaceae family that may be present in low numbers or have been stressed during processing. Following enrichment, samples are typically subcultured onto selective agar media for further isolation and identification.

Manufactured to harmonised pharmacopeial requirements, EE Mossel Broth is widely used for pharmaceutical and cosmetic testing, food microbiology, water analysis and environmental monitoring applications. Supplied in convenient ready-to-use 100ml bottles, it helps reduce preparation time and supports consistent testing procedures.
