Description
XLT4 Agar is used with Tergitol 4 for the isolation of non-typhi Salmonella spp and is not intended for use in the diagnosis of disease or other conditions in humans.
Preparation
- Suspend 59 grams of the medium in one liter of purified water.
- Add 4.6 mL of Niaproof-4 supplement (Sigma Niaproof®, product code N1404).
- Heat with frequent agitation and boil for one minute to completely dissolve the medium.
- DO NOT OVERHEAT OR AUTOCLAVE THIS MEDIUM.
- Cool to 45-50°C.
