Description
Water Plate Count Agar is a non-selective medium which conforms to ISO 6222:1999, and is not intended for use in the diagnosis of disease or other conditions in humans. Water Plate Count Agar allows the enumeration of culturable microorganisms, which can be used for the assessment and surveillance of water quality.
Preparation
- Suspend 23.5 g of the medium in one liter of purified water.
- Heat with frequent agitation and boil for one minute to completely dissolve the medium.
- Autoclave at 121°C for 15 minutes.
- Cool to 45-50°C.
