Tween® 80 is a non-ionic surfactant widely used in microbiology, pharmaceutical, cosmetic and laboratory applications. It is commonly added to culture media and laboratory preparations to improve sample dispersion, support microbial recovery and help neutralise certain antimicrobial compounds.
Also known as Polysorbate 80, it is particularly useful when working with oily or difficult-to-disperse samples and is frequently used in microbiological media, cosmetics testing and preservative testing.
