SGL Sabouraud Dextrose Agar (USP) is a ready-to-use selective medium designed for the isolation and cultivation of yeasts, moulds and fungi. Commonly used in pharmaceutical, cosmetic, environmental and clinical microbiology laboratories, the medium supports the detection and recovery of fungal contaminants during routine quality control and microbiological testing.

The acidic pH of the medium helps inhibit many bacterial species whilst promoting the growth of fungal organisms, making it particularly useful for the examination of non-sterile products and the investigation of yeast and mould contamination.
