Oxoid™ Thioglycollate Medium (Dehydrated) is a non-viscous, general-purpose medium designed for the cultivation of a wide variety of aerobic and anaerobic microorganisms, including fastidious organisms. It is particularly suitable for sterility testing of turbid biological products and is widely used in clinical, pharmaceutical, and food microbiology laboratories.

Supplied in a 5kg dehydrated powder format, this medium yields approximately 169 liters of prepared medium, making it ideal for high-throughput microbiological laboratories and quality control environments. The formulation includes sodium thioglycollate as a reducing agent to maintain an anaerobic environment, supporting the growth of obligate anaerobes.
