Description
Oxoid™ Sabouraud Dextrose Agar is a selective medium formulated for the isolation and cultivation of dermatophytes, yeasts, and other fungi from clinical specimens such as skin, hair, nails, and environmental samples. The medium's acidic pH supports fungal growth while inhibiting bacterial contamination.
Key Features:
- Form: Dehydrated powder
- Pack Size: 5kg
- Application: Isolation and cultivation of fungi
- Composition: Mycological peptone, glucose (dextrose), agar
- Preparation: Suspend 65g in 1 litre of distilled water; autoclave at 121°C for 15 minutes
- Storage: Store the dehydrated medium at 10–30°C; store prepared medium below 25°C
- pH: 5.6 ± 0.2 at 25°C
