Description
Description: The Oxoid™ S.I.M. Medium (Sulphide Indole Motility) is a dehydrated culture medium used to help identify bacteria based on three simple characteristics:
- Motility: Can the bacteria move on their own?
- Indole Production: Can they break down certain proteins and produce indole?
- Hydrogen Sulfide (H₂S) Production: Do they produce a gas that turns part of the medium black?
- This powdered medium is used to prepare tubes that test if bacteria move, digest proteins, and produce gas.
- Supplied in a pack of 50, each portion weighs 9.5–10.5g for easy preparation.
- Storage Temperature: 2°C to 25°C
