Oxoid™ Rappaport Vassiliadis Enrichment Broth (RV) (500g) is a selective enrichment medium designed for the isolation and recovery of Salmonella species, particularly from food, water, and environmental samples. The medium contains malachite green and other selective agents that inhibit the growth of competing microorganisms, allowing Salmonella to thrive. This enrichment broth is typically used as a pre-enrichment step before transferring samples to selective agar for the further isolation of Salmonella.
