Description
Oxoid™ Pseudomonas Agar Base is a dehydrated culture medium used for the selective isolation of Pseudomonas species from clinical, food, water and environmental samples. Commonly used in microbiology, water testing and quality control laboratories, the medium supports the recovery and identification of Pseudomonas organisms during routine monitoring and contamination investigations.
The formulation is based on King's A Medium and contains ingredients that enhance pigment production, making the characteristic colonies of Pseudomonas aeruginosa easier to recognise. When used with the appropriate supplements, the medium becomes selective for either Pseudomonas aeruginosa or Pseudomonas species more generally.
