Description
Oxoid™ Muller-Kauffmann Tetrathionate-Novobiocin Broth (MKTTn) is a highly selective enrichment medium used for the isolation of Salmonella species from food and related samples. Developed through modifications of the original Muller formulation, MKTTn Broth includes ox bile, brilliant green, and novobiocin (40 mg/L) to enhance selectivity by inhibiting competing organisms such as Proteus spp.
The formulation conforms to ISO 6579:2002, making it suitable for laboratories performing Salmonella detection in compliance with internationally recognized standards. Presumptive Salmonella isolates should be confirmed through biochemical and serological testing according to the full ISO 6579 method.
Key Features:
-
ISO-compliant formulation for food and feed testing
