Oxoid™ Malt Extract Broth (Dehydrated) is a nutrient-rich liquid medium formulated for the cultivation of yeasts and moulds, particularly in sterility testing and fungal isolation workflows. Its acidic pH suppresses bacterial growth, facilitating the recovery of fungi from samples with mixed microbial populations.
Supplied in a 500g dehydrated powder format, this medium yields approximately 25 liters of prepared broth. The combination of malt extract and mycological peptone supports luxuriant growth and typical morphology of fungi, making it suitable for food, clinical, and environmental microbiology applications.
