Description
Oxoid™ Enterobacter Sakazakii Isolation Agar (500g) is a chromogenic, selective medium designed for the isolation and differentiation of Cronobacter species (formerly Enterobacter sakazakii) from food, particularly powdered infant formula, as well as environmental samples. The medium contains specific chromogenic substrates that enable the clear visual identification of Cronobacter colonies based on distinct colour reactions.

- Composition: Nutrient-rich base with selective agents and chromogenic substrates that facilitate identification through colour differentiation
- Preparation: Suspend 31.6g in 1 litre of distilled water, mix thoroughly, and boil to dissolve completely; do not autoclave. Cool to 50°C before pouring plates
- Yield: Approximately 15.8 litres of prepared medium
- Storage: Store the dehydrated medium at 10–30°C, protected from moisture and light
- Compliance: Suitable for use in recognised microbiological testing protocols for the detection of Cronobacter spp., including those used in food safety and quality assurance programs
