Oxoid™ Burkholderia Cepacia Agar Base (500g) is a selective and differential medium designed for the isolation and identification of Burkholderia cepacia from clinical, environmental, and food samples. The medium is formulated to support the growth of Burkholderia cepacia while inhibiting the growth of other microorganisms. It is particularly useful in clinical microbiology for identifying this pathogen, which is known to cause respiratory infections in immunocompromised individuals, including cystic fibrosis patients.
