Oxoid™ Buffered Peptone Water (BPW) (ISO) FitBag™ is a ready-to-prepare pre-enrichment medium designed for the recovery of stressed and damaged bacteria from food and environmental samples prior to pathogen testing. The medium is commonly used as the first stage in Salmonella detection workflows and conforms to ISO 6579 methodology for food microbiology testing. It provides a non-selective environment that helps injured bacterial cells recover before transfer to selective enrichment media, improving the likelihood of detecting low-level contamination.
Supplied in convenient 4.5L FitBag™ formats, the pre-weighed, gamma-irradiated media bags are designed to reduce preparation time and eliminate weighing, sterilisation and media dispensing steps. Simply add water and reconstitute when required. The segmented bag design allows pre-filling, helping laboratories respond quickly to fluctuating testing demands whilst maintaining consistency across microbiological workflows.
