Oxoid™ Buffered Peptone Water (BPW) (5kg) is a large-scale, non-selective enrichment medium designed to facilitate the recovery of sub-lethally injured microorganisms, particularly Salmonella, from food and environmental samples. BPW provides a stable pH environment that encourages the growth and repair of stressed bacteria before they undergo selective enrichment. This makes it an essential medium in microbiological testing for foodborne pathogens, especially in the first stages of pathogen detection.
