Oxoid™ Buffered Peptone Water (BPW) (500g) is a non-selective, nutrient-rich enrichment medium used for the pre-enrichment of bacteria, especially for recovering sub-lethally injured Salmonella and other pathogens from food and environmental samples. The medium provides a buffered environment that stabilises the pH and promotes the repair and recovery of stressed bacteria before they undergo selective enrichment. BPW is commonly used in microbiological testing protocols for the detection of foodborne pathogens.
