Description
Oxoid™ Brilliance™ Salmonella Agar Base is a selective and differential chromogenic medium designed for the isolation and presumptive identification of Salmonella species from food, environmental, and clinical samples. This medium incorporates novel Inhibigen™ technology to specifically target and inhibit Escherichia coli, enhancing selectivity and reducing background flora.
Supplied in a 500g dehydrated powder format, this medium yields approximately 9.3 liters of prepared agar. It features chromogenic substrates that produce purple colonies for Salmonella spp. and blue colonies for other Enterobacteriaceae, facilitating easy differentiation.
