Description
Milk Agar with Cetrimide 90mm Pre‑Poured Plates (7042) are ready‑to‑use laboratory culture plates designed to help detect proteolytic bacteria, particularly Pseudomonas species. The milk component of the agar allows visible detection of protein breakdown (clearing around colonies), while cetrimide acts as a selective agent to suppress competing bacteria and encourage the growth of Pseudomonas.
These plates make it easier to identify bacteria that produce enzymes capable of breaking down proteins, which is useful in water testing, hygiene monitoring, and environmental microbiology. Supplied pre‑poured in standard 90mm plastic (PP) Petri dishes, they offer convenience, consistency, and reliable performance for routine laboratory use.
Applications
Detection of proteolytic Pseudomonas species
