Description
Cetrimide Agar (Agar Medium N) is used in the isolation and identification of Pseudomonas aeruginosa. Conforms to Harmonized USP/EP/JP Requirements1,2,3 in a laboratory setting. Cetrimide Agar (Agar Medium N) is not intended for use in the diagnosis of disease or other conditions in humans. A medium recommended by the Harmonized USP/EP/JP for the isolation and identification of Pseudomonas aeruginosa, in non- sterile pharmaceutical samples. Conforms to USP/EP/JP performance specification.
Preparation
- Suspend 45.3 g of the medium one liter of purified water.
- Add 10 mL of Glycerol.
- Heat with frequent agitation and boil for one minute to completely dissolve the medium.
- Autoclave at 121°C for 15 minutes.
- Cool to 45-50°C.
