Brilliant Green Agar (BGA) is a selective medium formulated for the isolation of Salmonella species (other than S. Typhi) from clinical, food, water, and environmental samples. The medium’s selective properties inhibit the growth of most Gram-positive and many Gram-negative bacteria, allowing Salmonella colonies to develop distinctively for easy identification.
