Description
This enzyme is specifically used for the inactivation of penicillin, for increasing the susceptibility of Gram-negative bacteria to antibiotics.

Increases susceptibility of Gram-negative bacteria to antibiotics
Penicillinases provide multi-resistance to antibiotics such as penicillins, cephamycins, and carbapenems. Through hydrolysis, penicillinases break the molecular structure that all these antibiotics have in common.
