Polysorbate 80 is used to prepare 2% Tween 80, which acts as a dispersing agent. Polysorbate 80, also known as Tween 80, is a synthetic nonionic surfactant commonly used in food, cosmetics, and drug formulations as a solubilizer, stabilizer, or emulsifier. Tween 80 is a polyethylene sorbitol ester, non ionic surfactant and an emulsifier derived from polyethoxylated sorbitan and oleic acid.
