Description

For the determination of sulfate-reducing bacteria.

Reliably classify and assess risks:

The tube tests indicate the presence of microorganisms, especially in water systems and liquids, and offer a semi-quantitative method of measurement. Thus, microbiological risks can be reliably classified and evaluated in most applications, so that countermeasures can be initiated immediately.

Sampling and use:

Take 2 ml of sample liquid with a pipette and place the sample in a test tube. Then incubate at 35°C for up to 5 days with daily controls. The results are determined by the colour change. If no colour change or only bubble formation is visible, there is no contamination.

Key Features:

  • Addition of the sample with a pipette or swab
  • Straw coloured medium reacts to the formation of hydrogen sulphide by bacteria
  • Semiquantitative results after 5 days
  • Determination the contamination by black precipitation through the agar
The tube test is the right choice if you want to detect anaerobic bacteria and microbiologically caused corrosion. The agar is a semi-solid medium for the analysis of anaerobic microorganisms that can reduce sulphates to sulphite.
