Description
Slanetz and Bartley Medium is used for the enumeration of enterococci from water samples as described in ISO 7899-2, and is not intended for use in the diagnosis of disease or other conditions in humans.
Preparation
- Suspend 43.5 grams of the medium in one liter of purified water.
- Heat with frequent agitation and boil for one minute to completely dissolve the medium.
- Cool to 45-50ºC.
- DO NOT AUTOCLAVE, PREHEAT OR LEAVE FOR GREATER THAN 2 hours at 45-50ºC.
