Description
Sabouraud Dextrose Agar with Chloramphenicol is used for the selective isolation of fungi in a laboratory setting. Sabouraud Dextrose Agar with Chloramphenicol is not intended for use in the diagnosis of disease or other conditions in humans. Sabouraud Dextrose Agar (SDA) is a modification of Dextrose Agar described by Sabouraud.
Preparation
- Suspend 65 grams of the medium in one liter of purified water.
- Heat with frequent agitation and boil for one minute to completely dissolve the medium.
- Autoclave at 121ºC for 15 minutes.
