Description
Modified Tryptone Soya Broth is used for the selective enrichment of Escherichia coli O157 from food and faecal samples.
The formulation contains increased levels of dipotassium hydrogen phosphate buffer and bile salts, which help inhibit competing organisms such as spore formers and enterococci while supporting the growth of E. coli O157.
This nutritive enrichment medium is commonly used in food microbiology testing to support the recovery and detection of E. coli O157 prior to further identification procedures.
