Description
Oxoid™ Pseudomonas Agar (500g) is a selective medium designed for the isolation and identification of Pseudomonas species from clinical, environmental, and food samples. This medium is formulated to support the growth of Pseudomonas while inhibiting the growth of other microorganisms. The agar contains nutrients that promote the characteristic growth of Pseudomonas species, and it also contains specific indicators that allow for easy differentiation of Pseudomonas based on its distinctive colony morphology and metabolic activity.
Key Features:
- Form: Dehydrated powder
- Weight: 500g
- Application: Isolation and identification of Pseudomonas species from clinical, environmental, and food samples
- Composition: Provides a rich nutrient base that supports the growth of Pseudomonas species, with selective agents to inhibit the growth of other bacteria
- Preparation: Suspend 34g of the dehydrated medium in 1 litre of distilled water, mix thoroughly, and autoclave at 121°C for 15 minutes
- Yield: Approximately 14.7 litres of prepared medium
- Storage: Store the dehydrated medium at 10–30°C, protected from moisture and light
