Description
Oxoid™ Orange Serum Agar (500g) is a selective and differential medium used for the cultivation and differentiation of Listeria species, particularly Listeria monocytogenes, from food and environmental samples. The medium contains serum and an indicator, which produces a distinctive orange colour change in the presence of Listeria. This medium supports the growth of Listeria, allowing differentiation based on colony morphology and colour, making it a valuable tool for microbiological testing in food safety and clinical diagnostics.
Key Features:
- Form: Dehydrated powder
- Weight: 500g
- Application: Isolation and differentiation of Listeria species, especially Listeria monocytogenes, from food and environmental samples
- Composition: Contains serum and specific nutrients to support the growth of Listeria, with an indicator that changes colour in response to bacterial activity
