Description
Oxoid™ MRS Agar (500g) is a selective medium designed for the isolation and enumeration of lactic acid bacteria, particularly Lactobacillus species, from various samples, including food, clinical, and environmental specimens. The medium is enriched with nutrients that support the growth of lactic acid bacteria, which are essential in dairy production and other fermented products. MRS Agar is ideal for differentiating and isolating these bacteria due to its ability to encourage fermentation while inhibiting the growth of most other microorganisms.
