Oxoid™ Campylobacter Blood-Free Selective Agar Base 2.5kg

Oxoid™ Campylobacter Blood-Free Selective Agar Base (Dehydrated) is a selective medium formulated for the isolation of Campylobacter species, particularly C. jejuni, C. coli, C. upsaliensis, and C. lari, from clinical and food samples. This medium, also known as CCDA (Charcoal Cefoperazone Deoxycholate Agar), eliminates the need for blood supplementation by incorporating activated charcoal and other components that support the growth of Campylobacter spp. while inhibiting competing flora.

• Preparation: Suspend 45.5g in 1 liter of distilled water, heat to dissolve, autoclave at 121°C for 15 minutes, cool to 46–50°C, aseptically add CCDA Selective Supplement (SR0155E or SR0155H), mix well, and pour into sterile Petri dishes
• Yield: Approximately 55 liters of prepared medium
• Storage: Store the dehydrated medium at 10–30°C, protected from moisture and light
