Product Description
Oxoid Buffered Listeria Enrichment Broth (BLEB) is a selective enrichment medium designed to promote the growth of Listeria species, particularly Listeria monocytogenes, from food and environmental samples. It contains buffering agents to maintain pH stability and supports the recovery of stressed or injured Listeria cells while suppressing competing flora.
Applications
- Food safety testing: Used in the detection of Listeria monocytogenes in dairy, meat, seafood, and ready-to-eat products.
- Environmental monitoring: Applied in hygiene checks of food processing environments.
- Regulatory compliance: Suitable for use in standardized testing protocols such as those recommended by ISO, FDA, and USDA.
- Safety: Listeria Selective Enrichment Supplement contains cycloheximide and is toxic if swallowed, inhaled or by skin contact. As a precaution when handling wear gloves and eye/face protection. Acriflavine is activated by light and may form compounds inhibitory for Listeria
