This critical component, used alongside the Selective Supplement, is essential for identifying target organisms. The Differential Supplement aids in the accurate differentiation of Listeria monocytogenes from other Listeria species by facilitating the development of a distinct opaque white halo around the colonies. The accompanying Selective Supplement ensures the necessary inhibition of competing microflora.

Brilliance™ Listeria Agar (ISO), when prepared with these supplements, is intended for use in the Thermo Scientific™ Oxoid™ Listeria Precis™ Methods or the ISO 11290-1:2017 and ISO 11290-2:2017 reference methods for the detection and enumeration of Listeria species and L. monocytogenes.

The Listeria Precis Methods, which rely on this supplementation, are validated for a broad range of samples according to ISO 16140-2 following NF VALIDATION rules.
