Oxoid™ Baird-Parker Agar Base 2.5kg Each

Oxoid™ Baird-Parker Agar Base (Dehydrated) is a selective and differential medium formulated for the isolation and enumeration of coagulase-positive staphylococci, particularly Staphylococcus aureus, from food and environmental samples. This formulation is designed to be used with Egg Yolk Tellurite Emulsion (SR0054), which enhances colony differentiation and selectivity.

Supplied in a 2.5kg dehydrated powder format (CM0275R), this medium is ideal for high-throughput microbiology labs involved in food safety testing and environmental monitoring.

• Preparation: Suspend 63g of agar base in 1 liter of distilled water. Heat to dissolve, autoclave at 121°C for 15 minutes. Cool to 50°C, then add 50 mL of Egg Yolk Tellurite Emulsion. Mix well and pour into sterile Petri dishes.
• Yield: Approximately 39.7 liters of prepared medium
• Compliance: Recommended in ISO 6888-1 and other international standards for S. aureus testing in food
