Description
OGYE Agar Base is used with oxytetracycline in the detection and isolation of yeasts and molds from foods in a laboratory setting. OGYE Agar Base is not intended for use in the diagnosis of disease or other conditions in humans.
Preparation
- Suspend 37 grams of the medium in one liter of purified water.
- Heat with frequent agitation and boil for one minute to completely dissolve the medium.
- Autoclave at 115°C for 10 minutes.
- Cool to 45-50°C and aseptically add 2 vials of NCM4024-0.5* Oxytetracycline, each reconstituted using 5mL sterile deionized/RO water. Mix thoroughly and pour into Petri dishes.
