Egg Yolk Agar Base is used for isolation and identification of Clostridia and certain other anaerobes. This medium is used for isolation and detection of Clostridium perfringens and differs from the original formula by the inclusion of hemin.

A solid medium for the cultivation and enumeration of anaerobes, especially Clostridium species.
