Because of its advantages, sterile, gridded membrane filters are frequently employed for routine microbiological quality monitoring. The membrane filters are ready to use and each filter is separately packed, providing the maximum security while minimising preparation time, whether they are single-packed or dispenser-ready. The filter identity and lot number are written on each individual envelope. In cellulose nitrate filters (also known as mixed cellulose ester), cellulose nitrate and cellulose acetate are combined to create a substance that ensures efficient retention together with high flow rates and optimal colony formation.
