Description
Campy Blood-Free Selective Medium (CCDA) is used with cefoperazone for the selective isolation of Campylobacter spp. in a laboratory setting. Campy Blood-Free Selective Medium (CCDA) is not intended for use in the diagnosis of disease or other conditions in humans.
Preparation
- Suspend 45.5 g of the medium in one liter of purified water.
- Heat with frequent agitation and boil for one minute to completely dissolve the medium.
- Autoclave at 121°C for 15 minutes.
- Cool medium to 45 - 50°C and aseptically add 4 mL of a filtered sterilized aqueous solution containing 32 mg of cefoperazone.
- Mix well and pour into petri dishes.
