Description
Anaerocult® A Mini is a reliable gas generator system designed for the cultivation of anaerobic microorganisms in microbiology labs. Each set supports the incubation of 1–4 Petri dishes in an anaerobic environment, making it ideal for small-scale testing. The system is easy to use, requires no additional equipment, and ensures consistent anaerobic conditions for optimal bacterial growth.
Suitable for cultivating obligate and facultative anaerobes such as Clostridium and Bacteroides species. Incubation typically occurs at 35°C for 24 hours on blood agar medium.
Applications
Food & Beverage Industry
• Used to detect spoilage organisms and pathogens in food products, especially those that thrive in low-oxygen environments (e.g., Lactobacillus, Clostridium).
• Helps ensure food safety and shelf-life stability by identifying anaerobic contaminants.
Clinical Microbiology & Healthcare
• Hospitals and diagnostic labs use Anaerocult® A to cultivate obligate and facultative anaerobes like Clostridium species, which are relevant in infections such as tetanus, botulism, and gangrene.
• Supports testing for pathogens in blood, wound, and tissue samples under anaerobic conditions.
Environmental & Industrial Microbiology
• Used in soil and water testing to study anaerobic microbial populations.
• Supports bioremediation research and wastewater treatment studies involving anaerobic digestion.
Pharmaceutical & Biotech
• Applied in quality control and R&D labs to test microbial contamination in sterile products.
• Useful in antibiotic development and testing the efficacy of antimicrobial agents against anaerobes.
Veterinary Microbiology
- Helps diagnose infections in animals caused by anaerobic bacteria.
- Used in veterinary labs for faecal and tissue sample analysis.
